The local municipality is a Category B municipality as determined in terms of Section 4 of the Municipal Structures Act of 1998.
The local municipality is a municipality with a plenary executive system combined with a ward participatory system contemplated in Section 2(f) of the Limpopo Province: Determination of Types of Municipalities Act 4 of 2000.
